That’s it. Nurtured Speech is a speech therapy practice that exists to care for the growth and development of children experiencing communication challenges.

I am here to care for your child’s communication growth. I promise to celebrate existing strengths and empower new depths of his or her speech and language capabilities. These are my pillars of service and care:
NURTURE THE CHILD TO EXPAND THEIR SPEECH SKILLS
First, I evaluate every child’s current abilities, then I customize a speech therapy plan that will give him or her the best chance to advance and thrive in their communication skills.
EMPOWER THE PARENT/GUARDIAN
Parent training and collaboration are critical pillars at Nurtured Speech Therapy. I will give specific and actionable tips that can be incorporated at home, with the intention of shortening the overall duration of therapy.
ACCESSIBILITY
Every child deserves the opportunity to express themselves. That’s why Nurtured Speech is accommodating. Tele-health sessions are available, and in the near future, in-person sessions will also become available. At this time, direct payment is available for services provided.

ABOUT ME

Bachelor and Master’s degree in Speech/Language Pathology, Washington State University
People find their calling in a variety of ways, but for me being a speech therapist is deeply personal. When I was young my dad was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). As his health declined, he lost the use of his voice and he communicated through the use of a speech generating device that he activated with his chin. I observed the professionals use a variety of tools and therapies with my dad, and it sparked a desire in me to know more, and then to give more.
Nurtured Speech therapy is so interconnected to my own personal life’s mission, to be able to encourage and care for that one thing we all deeply desire—human connection. And I’m able to help through the expression of speech.
I was born and raised here in the South Puget Sound, and I am happy to be able to serve my community. I built my career in speech clinics and elementary schools, and now I continue my work with my own private speech therapy practice right here in Tacoma/Puyallup.
